How to pick Clickbank Products

In this article written for beginners I’m going to teach you:

  • How to pick Clickbank products.
  • Where to find Clickbank products.
  • How to pick the right product & why.

Let’s get started then.

Where do I find products?

Before we can find the right product(‘s) you need to know where to find products. Are you still logged in on your clickbank account? If not login right now.

You can find all the clickbank products on:

Clickbank Marketplace

http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace.htm

On the left you can select within several different categories. You will find all clickbank products spread within those categories.

Cbengine

http://www.cbengine.com

A wonderful site which makes it easier to find products. With a lot more options then the clickbank marketplace. We will be using cbengine for our product research.

Forums are a great way to find products as well.

Digitalpoint

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=87

In there you will find a complete clickbank section. Vendors often make a post to launch there product. The section is bit trashy with loads of untested ( products that have not been tested for conversions ) in there.

One of the better forums for clickbank products is:

Nichechoppers

http://forums.nichechoppers.com/hot-clickbank-listings-launches/

You will see a big difference with digital point, most of the products listed come with a bunch of affiliate material and proof that the product converts.

There are a bunch more but we have enough for now.

What are the better products?

I’m sure you checked out the links I provided. A bit overwhelmed with all those products? Let me show you exactly how I find good products to promote.

I usually find something that interests me, but I have been promoting products I have absolutely zero interest for as well. It doesn’t matter as long as you are a bit creative & find the opportunities. You can already  learn a lot about a product from just reading there landing page.

Open http://www.cbengine.com

And then click on Category List

Cbengine Marketplace

You will see a huge list of categories.

We are going to pick the category music for this example.

Cbengine Marketplace

There are a total of 247 Clickbank products in the category music. Lets have a look at the results:

The results are listed by rank. You can see which products are doing the best in the category music. The product dubturbo is on top with a gravity of 149.24 which is a very high number.

Gravity is simply a weighted number of affiliates who have sold at least one product over the last 8 weeks, with the more recent sales counting for more than those made 8 weeks ago.

So basically any product that has gravity was sold before. But wait! Not all products with a high gravity are good converting products. That one sale from that one affiliate could of taken 6 weeks to make, or those 3 sales from different affiliates came from paid per click traffic and no profit was made. You have to get in more depth of a product before you spend your time building a affiliate website for that product.

We picked a high gravity product which usually means there is a lot of competition since there are a lot of affiliates already promoting it.

You don’t have to pick a product with a high gravity, just make sure it has gravity so you know sales are being made.

BUT when there are let’s say 4 products on the same subject it is usually so that the one with the highest gravity is the better converter, but take note that this is not always the case. A new product might be converting way better but since its new it won’t have a higher gravity.

All the products in the screen-shot are most likely converting because the gravity is higher then zero. You know these products convert, but before you promote ANY product you need to take a better look. I am are going to use dubturbo as example.

Simply click on the DUBturbo results and you will see the following:

Dubturbo

Commission: this product is giving you 70% commission per sale.

$/sale: the average sale for this product is $22.79

%/Reffered: 83% from the sales made came from affiliates

So all this tells you a bit more about the product. So far so good, but to get more details there is nothing better then the affiliate page provided by the product owner ( Vendor ).

So we press the BIG visit website button that links you to the product page, and before we check out the affiliate page I recommend taking a good look at the product page.

From just reading the landing page you can tell exactly what they are selling. In this case it’s beat making software.

I also recommend looking at the graphics on the page, and read the sales letter. You don’t want to promote a product with horrible English, bad graphics & overall a bad user experience.

So far this product is looking sexy! Let’s take a look at the affiliate page. You can usually find the affiliate link on the front page of a product. Most of the times these links are at the footer of the page.

Dubturbo affiliate link

Just as I told you, the affiliate link is at the footer of there main page.

On the affiliate page you will want to find banners to help you promote, articles and a big plus are video’s, content & even landing pages. ( Keep in mind that this is not always the case, but don’t let that scare you off.)

The most important thing you want to find is the conversion rate is. The more information about this the better.

Dubturbo is the perfect example of a great affiliate page with good affiliate resources. Let’s find the conversion rates & what we will earn per sale.

And as a good product is suppose to have the “conversion stats” :

Dubturbo conversion stats

And they are also providing us with what we can earn per sale. ( The stats taken from cbengine are not always accurate. Stats directly from the vendor are always better.

Sales Chart

This is looking very good! We can earn up-sells & down-sells promoting this product. Which means you are able to earn much more then just 70% of the official price.

  • A up-sell is often something like “do you also want 1 year support for the product for $7,95″  or another product they can add to there purchase.
  • A down-sell is often offering a discount on the official price if the visitor failed to purchase at the first offer. ( They can still purchase the up-sells if they purchase on the discounted price.)

Conclusion

  • Only promote a product that has conversion rates ( proof like the screen-shot and make sure the conversion rate is good, like the example above. Don’t promote a product that needs more then 100+ visitors per sale.)
  • Only promote a product that has gravity ( Always make sure the product has been sold before, if other affiliates manage to make sales so can you. )
  • Only promote a product that has at-least some advertisement material like banners, articles and such ( you don’t want to promote a product that doesn’t give a shit about you. )
  • Always read the sales page of the product to learn what the product is selling. ( You will be able to sell the product a lot better if you do, and don’t be scared to ask a review copy of the product you are about to promote.)
